  • The epilogue of The Fifth Agreement written by Don Miguel Ruiz and Don Jose Ruiz says it best in terms of change:

The Five Agreements are tools to change your world.  If you are impeccable with your word, if you always do your best, and if you are skeptical while listening, there won’t be any more war in your head; there will be peace…

  • If you want to change the world, change your world, the way to do it is by changing the main character of your story.  If you change the main character, then like magic, all the secondary characters will start to change also.  When you change, your children will change, because the message that you deliver to them will change.  The message that you deliver to your wife or your husband will change.  Your relationship with your friends will change.  Perhaps more important, your relationship with yourself will change.

Your effort is really for everyone, because your joy, your happiness, your heaven are contagious.  When you’re happy, the people around you are happy too, and it inspires them to change their own world.

Ann here:

These agreements take practicing however when they are put into practice a transformation is possible.  The Four Agreements has become a reference book for my life.  Taking the words of others and allowing them to have control over your self is giving those words power over who you truly are.  When we realize that the words and judgments of others are not about us, in fact they are about the person speaking those words, space is cleared for your living.  It is a time for me to take control over  this existence, this life… take the power and responsibility on to make it a happy life built on gratitude.

  1. Positive is truly contagious. People are naturally drawn to positive people. Not so much with negative. When a person is positive and encouraging, it’s amazing how the entire energy around them changes everyone else.
